Gome Haitang Bay Kimpton Resort Hotel

A New Generation of Hotel Concept with a Unique "Cloud" Design

The Gome Haitang Bay Kimpton Resort Hotel, designed by Skyline Design International LLC., is a new and innovative hotel concept located in the core area of Haitang Bay, Sanya, China. With its distinctive "cloud" shape, this hotel not only offers a unique experience for guests but also seamlessly integrates art with the building and the environment.

The inspiration for the design of the Gome Haitang Bay Kimpton Resort Hotel came from the character of nature. As the neighborhood area lacked local culture and history, the designers turned their eyes to the beauty of nature. The smooth lines of a cloud became the guiding concept for the building, creating a structure that is both elegant and captivating.

What sets this hotel apart is its modern architectural language and its ability to integrate various functions and experiences. The hotel offers breathtaking views of the mountain, river, and ocean, creating a beautiful sight that immerses guests in the surrounding natural beauty. The design also incorporates multiple functions such as swimming pools, entertainment areas, bars, catering services, fashion spaces, wedding venues, vertical greening, and a chapel, providing guests with a wide range of experiences to choose from.

The Gome Haitang Bay Kimpton Resort Hotel covers a land area of 134,092.91 square meters and has a gross floor area of 100,583.91 square meters. The building stands at a height of 45 meters and offers 227 keys for guests to enjoy their stay. With its unique shape and thoughtful design, this hotel represents a new generation of hotel concepts that prioritize both aesthetics and functionality.

The design and construction of the Gome Haitang Bay Kimpton Resort Hotel began in August 2015 and was completed in December 2018. The hotel is currently under construction and is expected to be a landmark in Haitang Bay, Sanya, China.

The design team, consisting of Li Tao, Grace Le, Zhu Hai, and Li Rui, worked diligently to overcome various challenges during the design process. One of the main challenges was the location of the hotel, which had a certain distance from the coast and was surrounded by coastal protection forests. To ensure that guests could enjoy the ocean view, the lobby and all-day dining areas were elevated to the top of the building, offering a panoramic view of the mountain, river, and ocean. This solution not only maximized the utilization of natural resources but also created a stunning lobby view that captures the essence of the surrounding environment.

The Gome Haitang Bay Kimpton Resort Hotel has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category in 2020. This prestigious award acknowledges the hotel's creativity, resourcefulness, and contribution to improving the quality of life. The Gome Haitang Bay Kimpton Resort Hotel truly exemplifies the best practices in art, science, design, and technology, making it a remarkable addition to the hospitality industry.
